Default Recommend a good hair salon for me......

I'm looking for a new stylist in the cities as I just moved back here recently. I've thought about going to an independent salon vs. a chain as I've heard they can be better. In the past, I have gone to JCPenney Salon & Trade Secret. They don't seem to do my hair right or maybe I just think there's gotta be something better than this.

Has anyone ever went to an ULTA salon?? I've searched some on CitySearch with some good reviews but would like some real experiences from anyone on here, if possible. The good, the bad & the ugly. I really don't want to spend more than $30 though for a haircut, maybe $40 if I have to, but that's pushing it for just a cut (especially when you have to add a tip) I currently have pretty long hair & want to get a few inches cut, so I need someone who knows what they're doing!

Anyone??

Thanks!

Seriously, no one??? There's gotta be someone in the Minneapolis area who has a good recommendation.

Honestly, you have pretty much exhausted the under $30/cut places. Most places charge more then that for a cut. The most reasonable place I have found for a cut and color is Cloud 9 in Eagan. A cut and foil runs $90 with Hope Smith. They are all independent contractors there so I don't know if they all charge the same or not.

Cole Salon in Eagan (believe they're also in Apple Valley, Savage, possibly a few more places) is reasonable. I've gone there a few times now and have been happy. I have long hair and get a few inches off and it's $27.

They're located next to the Eagan Transit Station off of Yankee Doodle and Pilot Knob.

Thanks,
I think I have found one in Eden Prairie close to where I work. It's right near the $30 range.
