Are you referring to St. Michael - Albertville or Sport Turf Manager Association?

What's an STMA? Sounds like one of those new supervirus thingies.

Hahahaa, Of course turf!
ha, I just hadn't heard much from these two towns in the Forum. And the area has a special place in my heart. I just wanted to see people's thoughts/opinions/perception of the area..

And I doubt you will if you don't tell people what you are talking about.

I'm sure they were once really cool small towns that offered a small town feel close enough to the city for weekend trips. I bet that was nice.
Today I couldn't imagine ever wanting to live there. Driving past on 94, the place looks like endless cookie cutter homes and sprawled shopping. Basically what I would consider the least desirable things in a community.
I'm sure they were nice once, but today? I don't know if the old mainstreet areas still exist. If they do, I bet there are some nice little walkable pockets, but I think the majority of the area is the kind of stuff that just makes you wonder what the people living there are smoking.

I drove past them last night on the way home from the family cabin. Here is what I saw in order from the west going eastbound on 94.
1. endless fields and nothingness
2. on the right side I saw a hill with a church surrounded by a cookie cutter settlement. It reminded me of the fictional town "Agrestic" in the Showtime series Weeds. If anyone has ever watched the show, the opening theme song perfectly described what I saw.
3. More fields/nothingness
4. The Albertville outlet mall on the left side
5. More fields and nothingness until Rogers.
Yeah, I know this says very little about the area, but beyond the outlet mall to meet all of my penny pinching shopping needs there is very little drawing me there.
