*sigh*
Why can't you post a question like this in one of the multiple posts you've made over the past couple of days instead of making yet another new topic?
Or better yet, just search previous posts. The Minneapolis vs Chicago "debate" has been well covered.
As a matter of fact, I see that you posted a topic with the exact question earlier today. Please, use some common sense and basic netiquette. This forum isn't exactly fast-moving, and multiple topics about things which have already been covered here aren't exactly going to inspire people to post responses.

Edit: Nevermind; that was not appropriate.

To put it nicely, your posts are very broad, and no one wants to waste their time. If you're not getting the answers you want you should try posting a more specific question. (you can add it to the original post, too, instead of starting a new one on the same or virtually the same topic) I dont' know what you mean by similar or different. It depends. The more specific you can be in your request the more likely you are to get useful answers. Really broad questions, especially a string of them, often signal a person who isn't really interested in hearing the answer - that may not be the case, but it's all the more reason to be more specific as to what information you're trying to get out of these posts. Posting the same question multiple times won't get you any new answers, except for the frustrated answers that you're seeing here. People do want to help, and are interested in discussing the city (cities), but you've got to give them something to work with. (I do see that one of your compare/contrast questions was fairly specific, at least in naming specific suburbs in both areas, but it's possible that no one here knows enough about both places to comment. If you could explain what the Chicago suburbs in question are like then you might get some useful information to work with.)

I would say the OP is looking specifically for info that helps compare suburbs in Minneapolis/St. Paul area to suburbs in the Chicago area, and probably views Minneapolis vs. Chicago as a different topic. Clearly we have a lot of posters that have strong affinity for suburbs and those who prefer the city. Why is a seperate thread a big deal?

I realized that and edited it a few minutes later. What I took a problem with was his response, not the original posting of this thread.

One striking difference: Mpls has few pre-WWII suburbs, while Chi has dozens. Commuting from Mpls suburbs involves driving, or for some, buses. In Chi's pre-WWII burbs, many ride the fast, frequent commuter trains into the city. Many pedestrian-friendly, small scale commercial areas in Chi's burbs; not so many in Mpls burbs.

What a tool, oh, ok... post again... there is a little thing called the 'search' function. Dont blame people for not wanting to ask the same questions over and over, when everything you need is right there....
It's like going home and asking your mom what happened on LOST on TV that night, when you have TiVo and they have a replay on later that night....Im sure your mom would resond with "Just search for it"
