North Minneapolis is a fairly large area comprised of several neighborhoods, some ARE worse then others but you can't lob the whole Northside into one giant crap heap.
Statistics can be compiled in any way, shape or form in order to come to many conclusions-generally those of which will support whom ever is conducting them.

As far as safety. ATL vs. MPLS or even ATL vs. Racine,WI, MPLS is the safest bet for me. Even Racine, with its problems, isn't the worst.

Man, I can't believe these people actually think the crime rate of Minnapolis can even be compared to Detroit's. Detroit's crime rate is six times the national average, Minneapolis is nowhere near that. Detroit is always in the top 5 in over all violent crimes among the top 25 major cities and remember why they call it the Murder city because it has been the Murder Capital several times in the past 30years and Minneapolis has never even come close to that level and never will be so stop scaring these poor people with all that garbage.

Most of my posts across the USA are cut out for honesty. Not for swearing. Not for abuse. But FOR HONESTY> I doubt this post will make it either as city data cuts out half of the game..........lets see if stage one makes it.

What is your honest opinion about the crime in MPLS-St.Paul? To be honest with you, after one has lived in Atlanta, I would choose Minneapolis over Atlanta. Atlanta's violent crime rate is among the top 15 highest in the nation and it's widespread over the metro area.

That was 1991 and 1992(I went to MPLS in 1992 and I didn't feel any danger). I am talking about today. TODAY.

Cummon, New York City is a disgusting, dirty, crack-infested metropolis (if the year is 1978). Now its one of the safest large cities in the nation. Places change.

Ummm, Minneapolis has never even come close not then, not now, and never will. Get your facts straight.
Im pretty sure that Detroit and D.C. were battling it out.
Minneapolis has never even had 1/4 the murder rate of Detroit.
Here is a blip in today (tuesdays) paper
10 people murdered in Detroit since Saturday.
You will never see that in Minneapolis
10 murdered in Detroit since Saturday

I know MPLS isn't that dangerous, maybe for MN, but for the Midwest and for a major city, not the worst either.
As for more violent cities, it isn't just Detroit, you have Flint, St. Louis, Gary, New Orleans(even after the hurricane and after the large population drop), Kansas City, and Cincinnati.
