North Minneapolis is a fairly large area comprised of several neighborhoods, some ARE worse then others but you can't lob the whole Northside into one giant crap heap.

As far as safety. ATL vs. MPLS or even ATL vs. Racine,WI, MPLS is the safest bet for me. Even Racine, with its problems, isn't the worst.

Man, I can't believe these people actually think the crime rate of Minnapolis can even be compared to Detroit's. Detroit's crime rate is six times the national average, Minneapolis is nowhere near that. Detroit is always in the top 5 in over all violent crimes among the top 25 major cities and remember why they call it the Murder city because it has been the Murder Capital several times in the past 30years and Minneapolis has never even come close to that level and never will be so stop scaring these poor people with all that garbage.

What is your honest opinion about the crime in MPLS-St.Paul? To be honest with you, after one has lived in Atlanta, I would choose Minneapolis over Atlanta. Atlanta's violent crime rate is among the top 15 highest in the nation and it's widespread over the metro area.

Well, Minneapolis did take top cake for murders in like '91 or '92.

As for more violent cities, it isn't just Detroit, you have Flint, St. Louis, Gary, New Orleans(even after the hurricane and after the large population drop), Kansas City, and Cincinnati.
