Good work out fitness center?
Hi,
I'm wondering if anyone has any recommendations about fitness centers in the greater Minneapolis area? GOOD fitness centers? I'm not exactly looking for a big box place (aka: lifetime, LA, or bally). Preferably somewhere with excellent personal training and a quantifiable track record? No offense to the big box places, but their trainers seem to be a lot like real estate agents rather than fitness buffs...whatever. Any suggestions?

I am a member of Lifetime (only because my employer pays for it). I have heard very good things about Anytime Fitness and they seem to be in good locations. Anytime is also much cheaper (I think ~ $30/month) than Lifetime.

I would highly recommend True Intensity Fitness in Golden Valley.
trueintensityfitness.com/
The guy that runs it, Paul, is top notch as far personal training goes, and he runs it all out of his own workout studio. He's the real deal.
As the name implies, though, it's intense. I train with him 2 days a week, and I saw results after the second week working with him. He will push you to the limit.

SNAP fitness is sweet, they take almost all insurances. I have to go 8 times a month to get the discount, but with the discount its $11 a month.
I think people care too much about how their fitness center is. You can be in the best shape using NO equipment by simply running, push ups, sit ups, dips, crunches, and stretches

I checked out trueintensityfitness.com, that place is legit, good prices too. Thats kind of what I'm looking for. Have you heard of Higher Power Training? higherpowertraining.com? A friend said they're quality?
Either way, thanks for the suggestions.

Has anyone tried the Uppercut boxing gym? I understand they have fitness classes along with excellent boxing training.

Uppercut is awesome. I boxed there for a year or so. Got a little pricey, so I quit...but the instructors are excellent.

I recommend CrossFit in Northeast Minneapolis. Tyler is a great trainer. He offers free consultations. CrossFit MPLS
