Red Savoys is about the best you can get for pizza in the Twin Cities. Delicious. Although I have never heard of this Pair of Dice place before, might have to check it out!Green Mill ain't bad either.

Has anyone ever tried Punch Neopolitan Pizza in St. Paul or Fat Lorenzo's on the southern tip of Lake Nokomis in South Minneapolis? I've always been curious about those places but have never eaten at either one.

Punch is very good but it's a different type of pizza. It's woodfire cooked with a crust thats not real thick but not like a thin crust that you find in Minnesota and Wisconsin.
Fat Lorenzo in my opinion wasn't very good. It's been 4 years since we went and we only went once. So we may have gone on a bad night or whatever. But the pizza reminded me of something you'd get a Domanio's or Papa John's. I think that Jakeeno's on Chiacgo Ave is much better.

I too miss Eduardos (sp?) at Southtown. It is a Suchi place now. Who doesn't like Pizza Luce?? Love the deep fried meatballs.

We go to Punch a lot, it's in our neighborhood. I agree with your assessment, it is very good, but it is very different from traditional American pizza. (Kinda like how White Castle burgers are very good, yet very different from great burgers from places like 5-8 Club, the Nook and Fuddrucker's. )
I disagree on Fat Lorenzo. I think it's great pizza. (And my 2 least-favorite pizza are Domino's and Papa John's ). I'd go more often if I lived closer.

I also like Punch a lot. From what I've been told, it's closer to what "real" Italian pizza is. No matter what, it's tasty, that's for sure. The only caveat to the place is that it's small and often very crowded so it can seem cramped and hot in there.
Fat Lorenzo's is good, but their stuff isn't outrageously good, if that makes any sense. It's a solid family run Italian place and their menu is kind of comfort food to me.
Pizza Luce is okay if you can get the slices fresh. They tend to keep them out for way too long though. The big reason that they're popular is because they're one of the only places downtown open for after-bar eats.
MPLSTodd - A Slice of New York is still around. I think they might have changed owners though, as they are offering different sorts of slices like chicken gyro (which is actually quite good).

Never been to Pizza Luce but Punch is pretty good, there are several locations in the metro...it's not a sit-down restaurant but rather a pizzeria version of the chipotle-style of high-end fast food. The neapolitan style of pizza is specific to the Napoli region/area of Italy.

The Little Oven (formerly the Italian Oven) has great pizza too. They are in St Paul. They actually do come close to NY style. Although I do miss my NYC Four Brothers of Italy, that place comes close. I actually miss that too and I just had some when I was up in MN last week

As for a foldable pizza with quality ingredients. -For a NYCstyle I'm partial to Punch Pizza. There's one in NE and one by Calhoon. (I'm sure there's a few more)

I highly recommend Mojo's in Fridley and St. Paul. They're my current favorite. They really seem to get the dough right for NY style. (Even though it is cooked in a conveyor/convection oven, it's still fantastic.)
Also try Uptown Pizza at Lake and Grand (Lyn-Lake area) in Minneapolis. They've been there since '86 and have held their own against newer competition with their solid thin (but not too thin) crust pizza cooked in a stone deck oven. (Parkway Pizza at 45th St and 42nd Ave S in Minneapolis offers a similar pizza. I've had it a couple of times and it's pretty good. They also cook in old-style deck ovens. Rumor has it that the former owner of Uptown Pizza consulted with the Parkway guys on their recipes before they first opened.)
