Default Best Hotel Pools

My daughter just had surgery and as a present for doing so well we told her that in the next couple of weeks we'd get a hotel room for a night or two and go swimming. So I'm looking for any recommondations you all might have of best hotel pools within about 2 hours of Minneapolis. We are trying to avoid the waterpark type hotels like Grand Rios due to cost and she's still a little young for most of the slide. Thank you

The Depot in Minneapolis is good, but a little waterpark like. A smaller nice little pool with a great area for young kids is the Best Western Kelly Inn in Plymouth off 55- it is connected to the Green Mill Restaurant. The have a regular pool with basketball hoops and one slide (not huge). They then have a wading depth pool with smaller slides & water play things for littler kids. It is perfect for toddlers & preschoolers. They also have pool side rooms which we loved.

If she likes to lounge around in hot water, the Northland Inn has huge jet bathtubs that are great. They aren't like hot tubs, they're just big bathtubs, so they might be better for a kid.

I don't know much about pools, but I thought I'd add that The Depot Hotels (actually a Renaissance and Residence Inn By Marriott) also have the Depot Skating rink, which is a lot of fun too.

The waterpark type hotels aren't all that much more expensive but age does factor in. How old is she? If you don't mind getting out of the city, the waterpark at Arrowwood Resort in Alexandria has a LOT for little kids-7 and under, as well as fun stuff for the older kids too.

Another option would be to head over to the Wisconsin Dells. It is the off-season so room rates are pretty good.

Both are a nice weekend away type deal for the family.

She is almost 3 but very physical for her age. So that makes it a little tough most of the toddler stuff at places is usually not challenging enough but the stuff for older kids is still a little out of her range.

We looked at the Dells and that may be a possiblity for later in the winter as a get together with her cousins. But right now we were looking for more of a short day trip as a present.

But I will take a look at Arrowwood. Thank you.
