I agree that MSP Int Airport serves the east and west portions of the metro very well. The other factor limiting the appeal of Holman Field is its tendency to flood every now and then

True. There's hardly a winter with a good snowfall that Holman field doesn't flood.

I live in the far west Mpls. suburbs and it takes me 45 minutes to get to the airport- it certainly is not in the west metro. I think it's pretty central.

I don't see Hollman Field or for that matter MSP expanding too greatly for the next 10-20 years. MSP is currently undergoing a comprehensive review and a 3rd runway isn't even being considered.

I live pretty close to Hollman field, but don't know too much about it, traffic wise. It would be nice to see business pick up there. As that would reflect an improvement in the overall TC economy.

This will never happen, there is no more room to expand really at Hollman. If anything that would happen in the near future is St. Cloud getting service from O'hare or something like that and giving Northwest Metro travelers another option but nothing near downtown. Also Dallas has to airport DFW American's hub and DAL Southwest's hub. Good idea but I only see Air Taxi out of Hollman!

When I was living in St. Cloud they were making a giant push to make St. Cloud Regional Airport into an international airport.

They were expanding roads, aquiring land, and planning expansions, until, well the economy died. Needless to say the plans to become international are just plans.

??? Dangerous bus rides? I used to practically live on the 21, and never had problems.

What we really need is a new large airport to the north of the Cities (like Hinckley) to take advantage of our position on the polar route. This is where the mass transit types have a point. Lets build a high speed railroad to Duluth with just one stop at the airport. Lets keep the other two for satellite and local convenience.

Not Going to happen. Holman is landlocked. Longest runway is 6491' and converges with MSP traffic when landing NW. Too Close. Not enough demand. Too Close to downtown St. Paul which is a great corporate airport.

MSP would be better if it wasn't stuck between Ft. Snelling Cemetery, Fort and Minnesota River. Still much better than a Blaine airport would have been
