One would think a weatherman would know the difference between weather and climate.

You made a good unintentional point there. You said political and that is basically who we let tell us about climate. We let the Politicians because they are obvious experts on Meteorology. For many reasons but specially for the fact when he was laid-off he went ahead and created his own weather forecast company that was available on mobile devices which evolved to "WeatherNation" and made millions. I like a comeback champions. Johnathan Yuhas also, for his low key no mambo jumbo and right to the point approach.
