Default How much would a old fashioned lake cabin at a Northern VA Resort cost per week today?

Back in the Late 1960s, my father was a boy in Minnesota and his family used to go to an Old Fashioned Minnesota Style Resort every Summer in August. It was a lake 30 miles North of Brainerd. It had a lodge building and about ten cabins on a Lake. Each cabin had two bedrooms, a living room, one bathroom and a kitchen. No Air Conditioning or any of the modern things we would expect today. How much would something like this cost back then and how much today?

The place he stayed at was sold and torn down for condos. There used to be hundreds of places like that in Northern Minnesota and many of his friends and extended family had their own favorite lake resort they went to in mid to late Summer. These were not fancy four star resorts but very basic. Do they even exist anymore? Are they affordable or replaced by something fancy and expensive?

Birch Bay is another good one: Birch Bay GC, Resort & Country Inn

They have an inn, cabins and houses that they rent out.

I have gotten great weekly rates by renting private cabins.

Not as crowded as a resort and cheaper than a resort.
