I'm guessing Coburn's Grocery Store would qualify. The flagship store was in Sauk Rapids, MN I and they have stores in SD as well.

Lunds & Byerly's, Kowalski, Snyders drug stores, Davanis pizza, Green Mill.

Seems like there are quite a few chains that started in MN and have since expanded outside the neighboring states.

D'Amico chain of restaurants just began expanding to Florida (following the snowbirds), otherwise strictly MN

I also believe the Fleet Farm is just a Minnesota thing

But the big daddy of them all that started in Minnesota seems to be doing just fine: Target! (and Best Buy)

Granite City Food & Brewery started In St. Cloud, but now has restaurants in north dakota, nebraska, Iowa, Wisconsin, South Dakota, and missouri...Either way it still feels local to me.

If you like Burgers, the bleu peppercorn is as good as it gets and make sure to get waffle fries with the special sour cream dip!

Granite City Food And Brewery. Home of Great Food, Good People, and Great Beer!

PS If you have ever been to Chammps Americana, this place is almost identical

I believe that Norby's Department stores are only in North Dakota and outstate Minnesota, is that correct?
