Question Possibly looking to move to or around SandStone, MN

Hi everyone,

My family and I are looking to possibly move to the areas that I mentioned on my topic and just wondering from all of you who lives in MN which cities here would be the best place for me and my family to be in?

A little background info: Were low income family, and my oldest son is hard of hearing, been diagnosed with Bipolar and Autism and have seen on the websites that Minnesota has an impressive school areas for kids who has this problem and that is what is driving me to wanting to move to the MN area because the school that my son has right now is not benefiting his needs at all and been very disappointed with them.

But anyway, I've been looking at some areas and have a hard time deciding which areas would be best city suited for my family to be living in and also with the closest possible school that would be best for my son's needs. Any helpful information would be greatly appreciated. Oh btw, we live in NE of Wisconsin so the cold weather would not phase us any because were used to that kind of weather .

Sandstone is a really small town and probably not the best choice if you have a child with a lot of special needs. You would be better off moving to a larger district with more resources for your child, Duluth would probably be the closest to Sandstone.

Hi golfgal thanks for the reply and the info, is there any other cities that you or anyone else here may suggest besides Duluth? We can go as far as an hour or 2 from SandStone too just so you all know. Im just wondering which parts of Mn are better to live in then other areas, like for instance....if any of you know Wisconsin well heres what im trying to look at here: like the lower half of Wisconsin like the Milwaukee area and down is bad and we wouldnt even think to move back down that way, the middle of Wisconsin talking like Green Bay...is ok but too high class and the North/top of Wisconsin is decent. So like that is what im wanting to know about Mn areas. Hope im making sense here and just want to get the feel of each areas of Mn I guess.

You May want to look into the Red Wing area because it's between the Twin Cities and Rochester as well as being a beautiful area. We live in the cities area and my kids school, possibly as others, has special needs and hearing impaired departments in the school. I would not recommend Sandstone mostly because it is out quite a ways. There are plenty of good schools in the central to lower east side of MN

Bohdi1- This certianly helps, thank you for this information. I just wanted to be lead to the right direction and hopefully be in a city that we can be comfortable in. I guess another thing that im a little worried about from reading other posts here is trying to fit in when moving into a different state. But I guess this could be talked about through Pm's if anyone is willing to chat with me about MN and things.
