Yes I am looking into these two colleges and I wonder how safe these places are. I am from a small town in michigan about 7-8 hours away from these places and I looking for a good size town about 40 to 70,000 people and I am planning to go into accounting/finance and didnt know which school is the best for it and just if anyone had advice on why you like which college you do

I am going to assume you mean the MN State Mankato given your description of town size. I would give St. Cloud the edge for an accounting/finance major but both schools are good. Both are safe and are in nice towns with plenty to do. There are several businesses that have direct links to the business department at St. Cloud and do quite a bit of hiring of their grads (in a normal job market).

I'd say that's a good analysis.

I'd say this exact thing.

SCSU has better more legitimate accreditation. That's huge in college.

Compared to MSU-M? Can you provide an example?

St. Cloud State's GR Herberger College of Business has been accredited longer than MSU-Ms Business College..

SCSU's MBA program has been accredited since the 1970s, MSU-Ms has just recently been accredited.

Like I've been telling everyone on this site, I don't just post in threads to talk, I have facts man.

to me, I'd rather get an MBA from a certified, accredited school thats been around since the 70s rather than one that jsut got accredited

Just because something is newly accredited, doesn't mean it's of any lower quality. MSU is a newer college, and it has a lot of new programs.

Side note - I think the OP might be from my hometown or very close by, which is about 7-8 hours from Mankato.

Minnesota State, Mankato was founded in 1868, and St. Cloud State in 1869.

Neither holds a candle to the Carlson School of Business at the U of M, so does it matter?

Besides, none of the above say much about "...better more legitimate accreditation...".

While that makes some sense, it's hardly an objective comparison.
