I know. This weather is evil. 100 degrees today, then low 60s and clouds later this week (I doubt it will even get that warm). I'm so sick of this weather roller coaster ride. Why can't it just be sunny and 80 degrees like it's supposed to this time of year?

At least it's not snowing. I have to keep telling myself that.

This warm/hot weather in Minnesota right now(mostly in the 90s for highs. Does not seem like anywhere reached 100+) is better than the long arctic winters.

Actually, the heat wave in Minnesota seems enjoyable right now. The 90s for highs is coming with lots of wind, low humidity so no heat index higher than actual temperature, and lots of sunshine.

Also very interesting weather to happen and experience after such a long arctic winter.

High today forecasted to be 99....maybe 100+!!! Yuck -- I hope it doesn't get that high in Cleveland, here!!! I hate the bitter cold too but the oppressive heat is so disgusting I CRAVE the cold at the moment, especially when I wake up in a pool of sweat! Where are the low 80's?

Cleveland will stay cooler. The lake helps to moderate the temperatures.

Because mid-continental climates such as ours have fairly high normal distributions or standard deviations from the mean. Thus, you can get a June day where the high is in the upper 90s, or is in the mid-60s, and neither are particularly unusual despite being very different from each other. Similarly, in January the low might be -20F or the low might be 30F. Again, neither is all that unusual for all their dramatic differences.

Oceans are the great moderators, and we are about as far away as you can get in North America (and the nearest ocean, Hudson Bay, virtually never sends any weather our way, and it's still far away even so).

Default Ah, Duluth...

Yesterday it was 97F in the Twin Cities but only 83F in Duluth. Mind you, that's up at the airport, which lies several hundred feet above downtown Duluth and the lakeshore. Out at Park Point? The high was 54F.

Now that's the Duluth I remember!

That impressive Minneapolis reached 97 degrees yesterday while Duluth reached only 54 degrees. That is a 43 degree difference between highs.

It also happened again today with Minneapolis reaching 101 degrees and Duluth being only 54 degrees so even a bigger stark difference today. Today they have a 47 degree difference between highs today

Plus, it is very windy in Duluth so it probably feels colder than 54.

However, Duluth only reached 54 the past two days. I am sure 95% of the entire state of Minnesota was much warmer than Duluth the past two days so Duluth is the exception.

I still feel like this warm/hot weather in Minnesota right now(mostly in the 90s for highs. A few places reached 100 but barely) is better than the long arctic winters.

More impressive is the 83F at DLH vs 54F at Park Point. Those two locations are probably 5 miles apart, if that, as the loon flies.
