I think I'd rather be sick of cold and snow than experience hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes, dust storms and the like though. At least we know how to survive cold and snow. LOL...after my sister spent a year in Alaska, she couldn't wait to get back to the warm....in Duluth. |

Does anyone have information about the Deerfield townhomes in Hermantown? They look nice but we've heard that they can be noisy places to live.
Thanks! |

I've heard that even though they're relatively new, that they're falling apart. Leaky ceiling, etc

They are very expensive for what they offer. They also built on a wetland and did not make sure that the foundations were level and when the foundations settled-the walls cracked, siding came off the outsides, and the roofs leaked. I

I saw that you wrote this in October...I hope you don't still live here. Not for my sake, but for yours. Your work in medicine would lead me to believe that you know stress is the cause of much illness, perhaps some of your own. Change places for your life - there's so much out there.

Loved the witty, condescening response. You must be one of the many who are taking their frustrations out on others because of the crappy weather.
Get a life. I call things as I see them and that was my opinion of Duluth at that time. Things have definitely improved since then, but I felt I needed to respond to your sniveling attitude - that being that people need to 'move' because you don't agree or want to deal with them. We've become a society where the grass is always greener so long as you always move and run away from something the second you are no longer entertained or amused. |

Yes, the Great Lakes Aquarium is up and running but not without controversy (not much gets done in duluth without controversy). It receives an annual subsidy from the city of somewhere near $200,000. It is the most visited attraction in the city but cannot make it on its own. It's actually not a bad aquarium as they go, but it doesn't provide enough bang for the buck if you ask me. A little bit too small.
