I watch the local community news for my area the most, it's cable channel 12. They have local stories the rest of them won't bother with. The rest I pick up online. I'm not a big fan of any of the Mpls news channels, they're all interchangable to me.

WCCO and KARE, mostly, and sometimes Fox 9.

WCCO is pretty competent, if not particularly exciting or enticing, Fox 9 has been becoming more and more like the Fox News Channel lately (not my taste), and Erik Perkins (KARE) should stick to sports.

Rochester has KTTC (NBC), KXLT (Fox) in Rochester. Then there is also KAAL (ABC) which is based in Austin but they cover Rochester, Austin, Albert Lea and Iowa. KIMT (CBS) is based in Mason City but they cover Rochester as well. We also get WCCO, KSTP and KMSP but we don't always get the news for those channels. Like Petticoat said, we get the KIMT news on the WCCO channel at 10.

Rochester isn't a real touristy place, but there's plenty to do. What specifically are you interested in? If you like sports, there's baseball, vintage base ball, lacrosse, hockey, football, soccer. There are lots of beautiful parks. You can rent a boat and go on Silver Lake. There's lots of geese everywhere. There's the waterski show on Lake Zumbro. Lots of good restaurants. Shopping. You can see some of the Mayo history. There's a free zoo just outside town. There's also the nature center.
