I'd rather our state be "pro-person" than "pro-business." Economically speaking, Minnesota is more like Denmark than Texas -- and I'm perfectly fine with that.

What posting are you referring to and what was inaccurate about it? You sound like quite a guy... people are lucky to know you, eh?

Currently, Minnesota is not accepting people from New Mexico. We'll reevaluate your application in 2-3 years.

I don't know about that. Even though are taxes are higher than in Texas, we're still closer to them than Denmark.

Comparatively, however, we may be the Denmark (or Scandinavia) of America.

I still don't get why people care so much about a tax increase to the state's richest individuals. Unless you make over $1 million a year you aren't affected, so shut up. Right now it appears that the other option on the table to cover the deficit is by making several questionable accounting moves to defer payments which will only screw up the budget even worse in the future....a terrible option in my opinion.

Don't get me wrong, I don't think it's a good time to be looking at tax increases, but given those two options I think that one makes more sense. I still don't understand why the two sides aren't taking a harder look more creative ways of getting state revenues with the Racino, state-run casino in Block E where Gameworks used to be, additional sin taxes, etc. Limiting social services, education and healthcare during a recession would also lead to additional problems in my opinion. It definitely shouldn't be expanded at this point but I don't think you can further limit those areas and it doesn't appear that they are even trying to do that anymore, which is good.

What posting are you referring to and what was inaccurate about it? Your posts are not clear on that point.

I'm aware of the implications, which is why it isn't my first choice either, (as I previously stated, I prefer the sin tax route); but it's still better than trying to take money from places you shouldn't be and to defer payments like the GOP is suggesting.
