I don't mind the end game song just that stupid one they play after they score, that is all.

The "crowd chant" song is a great song and it's a synthesizer not a guitar and that song is widely used in the NHL after goals

If you were a true hockey fan you'd realize that every team has their own theme or song.
I can tell you a lot about what goes on during a gopher game like when the do the various cheers and all. Not so much about what they do at wild games though.

The great big sieve cheer is pretty cool and I always like the ugly cheer if the opposing teams goalie takes off his mask. Double Digits is a pretty awesome cheer, but it is rare.

32 years ago today the US Olympic Hockey Team beat the Soviets in Lake Placid. I was living in Daytona Beach at the time and IIRC the game was not shown live. Not real easy to find a place down there that was showing the replay even though the significance of the match-up was building all week. We went out of our way to avoid finding out about the result in advance but the bartender let it slip sometime during the game.

here's a young Herb Brooks giving the pre-game speech...

gee, given the Wild's accelerating free-fall approaching terminal velocity, I'm not sure I'd tout the contribution that the locals have made towards that effort.

I would not go there with the info presented. Most of the MN players are not in the Elite Player category, and the wild are struggling with that more than were the actual players are from.

I'm prepared to counter your post in the following ways.
1) The anticipation of this season was overblown from the start. It's an old/inexperienced team with a coach in his first year in the NHL with absolutely no cap room.
2) False hope given because of the highly touted prospect list that the team will see very soon.
3) The great run they made was anomaly. The generic sports cliche - "It's a marathon not a sprint" holds so true in this scenario. It was a team that hit it's stride and last a little bit before fizzling out.

I know you're probably being facetious, but I'm just speaking for the sake of discussion.

The locals have contributed some - Matt Cullen is a leader, and a veteran. Not to mention being a great forward. Nate Prosser was just rewarded for his great play with a new contract extension and has played great. Jeff Taffe is a veteran who's had a lof of NHL time, and won a championship for the Gophers. Chad Rau has show flashes of greatness in the few shifts he's played. Jarod Palmer has a goal in 6 games played. Tom Gilbert just arrived. Mike Lundin has played in a lot of NHL games and has been good this season, not playing lately, but playing almost every game of their hot streak.
