We build them from scratch (for the most part). Good to know.

ATV's are very popular outstate MN. Many people have them for hunting, farm work, etc. I think you would find a market for them in Marshall or any larger outstate area. You would also probably have better luck outstate finding land with outbuildings to use as a shop.

You sound like you know "a little bit about a little bit" . Curious, I see prices in my local paper which includes your state (I listed them below) Can you confirm if they sound right? Do you see these type out there? MODS, I didn't post any company web sites of mine, so this isn't advertisement. Just a question.

200cc/My state $1700/MN state $3200 (add $200 if I moved there)

Here is another: 400cc

70cc/My state $800/MN state $1600 (add $200 if I moved there)

Thanks a million!

Outstate is anything that isn't in the twin cities metro area, the 7 county metro area basically, which is Minneapolis, St. Paul and all the suburbs.

I really can't help you with pricing of ATV's. I have never looked into buying one. I just know that almost everyone I know in the Marshall area has one.

You shouldn't worry too much about starting you vehicle in the winter. Get the biggest battery (most cold cranking amps) that will fit in your vehicle. Batteries tend to last only about 4 years or so because of the extreme cold and heat. I live in the metro area but have been up by EGF and Bemidji when it's been -30 and my van has started without much problem. The thing to keep in mind is that short trips (a mile or so) in extreme cold weather are hard on the car battery that's one reason why people leave their cars running in outstate.

Don't worry about the Tornadoes. The problem is when you do not have a basement or your in a mobile home. If you have a basement, you have a place to go. I actualy lived 40 years in Tornado Alley..Anika County, MN. It is about 30 minutes north west of the twin cities. I remeber even driving and seeing a tornado in a distance and was not alarmed. a good thing to get to know in the Midwest to calm yourself is know how climate works, and know your cloud formations so you are aware of what to expect. It can be facinating. Never been in a flood..no earthquakes or hurricanes so Tornado's are fine if you just take some beforhand knwledge on what makes them. If you have an extreem hot weather and then a cold front comes. somewhere on the line of where the two temps collide, there will be a tornado. The clouds are what is the facinating thing to take notice. One of the tthings Minnesotans do know about weather
