Near Orion in the western sky there are two large very bright stars I have been seeing for awhile now from my yard, what are they or what are they called?

They are to the right of Orion looking west.

Tonight – March 15, 2012 – Venus appears above Jupiter on our sky’s dome. Both are in front of the constellation Aries the ram Tarurs. Only a week ago – on march 8th – Venus was shining below Jupiter. These two planets have been spectacular for many evenings.

I love the night sky, awesome totally awesome, scanning and looking at certain areas using 10x50, 20x50, or my spotting scope, I can see galaxies, nebulas, star clusters, the milkyway is really intresting to look at also.

Ha, I just started watching How the Universe Works on Netflix narrated by Mike Rowe of Dirty Jobs. Pretty darn interesting. My mind is blown. But you're right- It's more likely that there is other people there than isn't
