You might want to google for those towns' chamber or tourism webpages. Oftentimes they will have a list of local churches.
ANY northern Minnesota town is pretty much guaranteed to have a Catholic and a Lutheran church, with Baptist not too far behind. Other denominations (or in your case, non-denominational or "community" churches) are kind of hit and miss. I know some communities have some small, informal church congregations that meet in people's houses and that sort of thing, but you'll probably have to inquire locally about that.
