Personally I liked Fargo or West Fargo. All 3 have their good and bad points but the plus to me is that in ND the tax burden is less than MN. I have family in Fargo and W. Fargo and both seem happy. Just don't move to close to the river!

Probably West Fargo to raise a family, but I prefer Moorhead.

West Fargo is the dump of the city. You want to be in South Fargo..Moorhead is a good school ONLY if your child is going be in advance classes. The best teachers teach the good students--worst teachers teach the remedial/average kids. the same will go for North Fargo. However, all of them offer pretty much the same classes/opportunities. Even if you don't believe the your child is capable of Advance classes--still do it. Otherwise, you will get them stuck is in substandard standards

If I had to rank:

south Fargo
Moorhead
North Fargo
West Fargo
Dilworth - if that's of interest to you.

I assume you have been to the West Fargo area lately.... south of I-94 is all new....and within the WF school district is the new Scheels Arena and the new still to be built huge Sanford Medical Complex which is along the Fargo-WF boundary.

The actual little part of West Fargo just off of Main and north of I-94 is older for sure...but for young families the south end of WF has exploded in growth and has been until the oil areas took over the fastest growing city in the state.

Where-ever you find a neighborhood that looks like your style and is in your price range. Its not like there is that huge of a difference.

I do like "Moohead", though. I think I'll use that on my Moorehead-dwelling friends.

This is exactly what I would say. Just find a neighborhood you like. All three are nice cities to raise a family.
