Couple of hum-dingers for you guys.

Both are a bit racy, so brace yourselves.

"Holy balls!"
Expression of surprise said with great intensity. I have also heard it reduced simply to "Holy!"

"Boink"
Expression for "making whoopee" used in junior high around MN in the 80s.

How about whip a sh***y for when you are doing a donut in your car? How did that come about, and is it used anywhere else?

I forgot about that one! Yes, the favorite pastime of newly-licensed high school boys, whipping ****ties. Even I did that in my '78 Park Avenue (a tremendously long car to be "whipping ****ties" in, but it had rear wheel drive, which aided the process).

Interestingly, it was one of the phrases used in a study of regional American dialects. The study found that its use was primarily confined to Minnesota:

Is this habit of adding "at all" to the end of questions a regional thing. I never encountered it anywhere but Minnesota.

I haven't notice that one, but I do remember noticing that Minnesotans are fond of adding the word "So" at the end of a statement and not follow it up with anything.

Whipping ****ties is classic MN. Thanks for reminding me!
