moving to Rogers/Elk River area. Apartment recommendations (?)

Cool forum, I'm glad I found it. WELL, I'm a single person and I moved from the cities to St. Cloud to go back to school (I'm 24). And what a mistake that was! I hate this city, I can't stand it. Everything about it. It's cultureless, drab, ugly, and I'm not college age anymore, so there's nothing here for me. I could see if you were 19 or 20, how fun it would be, but I'm older and have been out in the real world. So maybe that's why I miss the cities so much.
Anyway, what I'm going to do is move to either Rogers or Elk River in January. I figure, that's close enough to the cities (20 min), but still close to SCSU, as I'll have to commute there through the winter for grad studies. I'd rather do the commute- I can't take living there!
My question is, can anyone recommend any good, safe apartment complexes or duplexes or rental units in either town (?) I've never been to either town, and I don't know where to start. Also, is rent a little bit cheaper there, as compared to the cities? I just want to find a decent 1 bedroom apartment, I do NOT want a roommate. It could be part of a duplex or housing unit, also.
