Born and raised in Red Wing. Great parks. Nice town but getting ready to be swallowed up by the expanding twin city metro area.

Red Wing is a great place to call home. Far enough from the core of the twin cities to be slightly more affordable (not cheap, though) and close enough for a change of venue.
Red Wing's downtown in cute and historic. As with most older towns, the downtown ebbs and flows with the times. Currently, it is on the upswing with shops, restaurants, etc.
I live about 35 miles north of there. Sadly, since I work in the twin cities, I rarely get to Red Wing.
I guess, if I had to make a decision... I would have no reservation about moving to/living in Red Wing.
Enjoy the river,
