Most towns in Mn don't have set hours for trick or treating. Usually people go out when it starts to get dark so around 5 or 6 and people continue to come until around 8 or so on a weeknight, sometimes later if Halloween is on a weekend. Sometimes we get older kids around 9 or so.

You know, it would've been nice if this information was written in the city guide, or something. I just wasted over an hour trying to google, "lakeville trick or treat, trick or treat times Lakeville" and etc etc etc. Then, I searched every local newspaper and news channel website for this info... all to no avail. So here we are on page 7 of results, and i get my answer in a forum post written in 2007. NICE!

Glad we can help . I would say that because towns don't set hours, no one would think to put it on their websites.

It's customary here for the tykes' parents to brink along a jug to offer to the homeowners in exchange for their candy. Personally, I like Scotch but anything will do.
