(At the end of May I went on a brief road trip through the counties I had yet to pass through in southern Minnesota, and I also dipped into northern Iowa to spend the night in Spirit Lake. Here are my belated pictures of the various towns I found there, some unexpectedly vibrant and others in a state of decline). This one is of LAMBERTON.

Lamberton (pop. 813) typifies the Minnesotan prairie city. It is notable for recording one of the highest temperatures in January in Minnesota (66 F) on January 25, 1981.
