Gangs in Northfield??
Your realtor is an idiot! Northfield is a great town, extremely safe and very tame. There is a growing Hispanic population in the area, but I have never heard of any gang activity in the area. It is as small town USA as it can get..great place to live!!

Northfield
The threat of Northfield gangs pales to the threat of smell from the Malt-o-meal plant.
Perhaps the ghost of Jesse James is forming new gangs down that way...alas.

Agree with all the above, I wouldn't worry about a gang problem in Northfield.

I don't think there is a problem with gangs in Northfield. I think your real estate agent just doesn't want to drive that far to show you houses. lol
You may find the morning commute into the cities pretty congested. I've driven out to lakeville in the morning and have seen traffic backed up quite a ways. Some of the people I work with arrive early just to avoid sitting in traffic.

Ouch...that was rough.
I am not sure about gangs, but know there are alot of messed up kids there sneaking Mom and dads drugs for one.
There are plenty of rentals in Northfield, NOW...so perhaps this has alot of old data. They did pass some unforceable rental ordinance that they are learning was wrong, in spite of the years it took them to create it. Thus more rentals should be on the market soon...if they have not been forclosed on. Many folks walking away from Northfield properties once they realize it is not the Utopia it pretends to be.
Perhaps the realtor just reads the paper and Northfield News has been pretty embarassing the last few years.
Cannon Falls is gorgeous...plenty of areas just outside the area.
I think the gangs are in Fairbaldt., (not spelled right) sorry...

Thanks!

Or perhaps your realtor isn't really up on history and doesn't know about the Jesse James gang. They hold a reenactment of his bank raid every year which draws a fair amount of people, so perhaps things got a bit conflated in their mind.
I'm a bit surprised that a realtor would even talk about gangs and crime, however. Usually they refer you to police websites just to make sure they don't accidentally cross one of the several Chinese walls the profession has to keep on one side of, since many conversations about crime tend to turn into conversations about race. That's where they run the risk of steering people into and out of neighborhoods based on racial makeup, which they're not allowed to do.

I agree does not sound ethical...
