hello all
in about 3yrs or so, give or take. the wife and i will be moving home. back to MN for me. was born there and lived in Mn for 16yrs. in '86 moved to florida with parents. now i am ready to go back home. my wife who was born in florida has never seen snow, experienced it or anything like that. well i take that back in april of this year we flew to MN for my sister wedding and that was her first experience.
well anyways since living in florida you loose the seasons feeling and the holiday feeling. as a child in MN you experienced it and felt it. cause of the warm temps in fl year round you dont get that feeling. so i am trying to explain to my wife that season/holiday feeling. any suggestion?
she is actually looking forward to this move now and so am i

Hm.

It's like the feeling you get when you're in a good restaurant, with good company, and you order something wonderful... right at the moment your server delivers the food. The plate smells good, looks good, and it's perfect, and you're hungry.

Holidays are like a happiness amplifier. They're partly anticipation, partly goodwill, partly the feeling that other people around me are relaxed, partly that I look at the world a little more gently. I'm a little more generous with my time and patience, a little less judgmental, more minute hand than second hand, a little more smile, a little less frown.
