Hi

Many of you have talked about the lack of snow so far....but that will change for much of the state. Does look like a potent low will develop in Colorado tonight-Fri period and then move northeast toward the Rochester-La Crosse area by Saturday night....heaviest snow potential RIGHT NOW would appear to be Sioux Falls to Watertown SD northeast across St Cloud-Twin Cities to Duluth area. Some models I have looked at do vary with the track with some taking the main snow a bit farther south than the areas I mention above. But this storm will have lots of moisture with it and give at least a few inches of snow to the northwestern half of MN and southeast ND as well...but right now the heaviest does seem to peg an area close to the Twin Cities. Could easily see 12+ in heaviest band along with wind following it.

If you plan on travel Saturday-Sunday please listen to TV, etc for latest information.

The storm has not developed yet....so things could always change. But confidence is higher than normal at least from this meteorologist.

Dan
NWS Grand Forks ND

If only it would travel 1200 miles further south...

Good. That takes care of yard work and the junk we left on the ground. Let the snow hide it. ONE good thing about living in this winter snowbelt.

Does anyone know how much snow NH could get out of this system? Some sources say up to 6 inches early next week.

I think I've heard 2-4 inches here in PA, 3-6 inches in parts of Upstate NY, and 4-8 inches in interior New England (VT, NH, ME).
