Hey everyone!

My license expires this July, but I'll have a new address in a month. It doesn't make sense to renew a license for only a few months.

Can I renew it this early? I just hate calling the DMV folks, so hopefully someone on here knows.

Thanks!!

J.

Found this online "You can renew your Driver’s License or ID card as early as September 1, 2014 for any DL or ID card that expires in 2015."

There is an alcohol-related exception AFAIK. If you're turning 21 you can only renew 3 weeks prior to your bday.

I think most of the DVS offices open at 8:00 am

Oh good grief. Just contact them. It's part of being an adult.

You don't have to renew it until the expiry date. Don't understand what moving in a month has to do with it. Got my renewal card today. A month early.

Ah - yea - ever called or emailed these people? Voice mail jungle which ultimately ends with you speaking to nobody and directing you to the website which does not answer my question. Email? Right. By the time I hear anything back it'd be July.

Please don't respond to me as if I'm stupid. These boards were created with the understanding that some of us have a quick question and perhaps someone else who has had a similar experience can offer their suggestion.
