Saturday looks pretty nasty in Iowa, what is your crystal ball telling you. I have been trying to find better info the what they currently have on the NOAA website but not a lot of luck. We are driving through Iowa to Missouri on Sunday--do we need to change our plans?

Hi golfgal...

I am working tonight and saw your post... newest data suggest that a low will move western oklahoma into eastern missouri then toward chicago and milwaukee area on saturday night. does look like some light pcpn daytime on saturday in the I-35 area in the aftn...with temps suggesting rain or sleet possible....then all snow sat night as low moves east. there will be a band of 4 to 7 inches of snow with this system from kansas city area to areas just south and east of des moines then up toward the quad cities and into wisconsin.

On sunday....lingering light snow psbl in the twin cities to albert lea......but dry in Iowa to KC but winds will be northwest at 20 to 35 mph and this may cause blowing snow across roadways and temps will fall off too with mostly teens to lower 20s for highs on sunday in iowa into kc.

I hope this helps....

Dan

Thanks, it looks like the Waterloo to Cedar Rapids area is going to get hit the hardest, right where we drive. Hopefully it doesn't stall out or hit later then predicted. Right now it looks like later in the day on Sunday might be ok. This always happens when we travel!
