My wife and I have been offered jobs in Minnesota, and we would love to come to the area. Our problem lies in the fact that I was offered a position in St Cloud and my wife was offered a position in downtown Minneapolis. I don't know anything about the commute from Minneapolis to St Cloud (my wife has made it clear that she will NOT be the one commuting) or what would be a good place to live on the west side of the city, that would be relatively convinient to get to St Cloud... any opinions out there would be greatly appreciated. Happy Holidays!

Is she willing to drive at all? You could look into the Rogers area which would give you a 45 minute or so commute, depending on where in St. Cloud and would give her about the same with bad traffic, less with not so much traffic. Another idea would be to look along Highway 10 someplace. They are putting in a commuter train from St. Cloud to Minneapolis and you could both use that. It won't be done for a couple years though.

Any chance she can find a job in St. Cloud?

Sorry,

It's just too far to commute. Getting into downtown Mpls in the morning takes hours. Added to the hours you drove to get this close. Add to that 2 inches of snow.

Sorry

Not sure what careers you both have, but you will probably have better luck finding something in/around Mpls. I don't think you want that commute to St. Cloud.
