Default Most and least religious parts of Minnesota

What do you think?

My guesses:

Least religious: "Hip" parts of Minneapolis
Most religious: Small-town Southern Minnesota, outer suburbs of Minneapolis

It is actually a simple indirect relationship equation.
The larger the population, the smaller percentage of the population engages in regular religious practices. Basically, the church has less of a role in the social climate.
On the other hand, in smaller populations, a larger percentage go to church. Simply, the church is seen as the originator of social functions.
So here's the final note: Going to chuch, synagogue, mass is independent of how religious people are. It is what is in your heart of hearts that matters.

Merry Christmas,
disneyrecords

Well no, I can't agree. I'd put up many neighborhoods in the "big city" in St Paul in comparison to small towns and suburbs. There are over 6 Catholic churches alone within 2 miles of my house, all of them very active congregations. I can't speak for the Protestant churches, but Catholic churches aren't just looked at as providers of "social functions" by their parishoners.

Just a guess here, but I wold say the least religious area would be the Uptown and South neighborhoods of Minneapolis. They are very liberal and trendy. I would say the most religious area of the state is East Central Minnesota. The area from Cambridge up hwy 65 through Mora. Mora has 3200 people and 14 churches.

Take a look at the map somewoe put up on the "Athiest cities" thread. It shows that church membership in MN is most prevalent in the Southwestern counties of the state.

The iron range is quite liberal... I'm not sure about religion.
