Lightning strikes two Dorset historical restaurants early morning 9/4/14..... burning them to the ground.

Dorset restaurants go up in flames | Park Rapids Enterprise

Companeros and Dorset House Pizza burned while their owners sat across the street fighting back tears and watching the six fire departments fight valiantly to try to save the 100-year-old wooden structures.

What horrible news that was this morning. Companeros has been a regular stop for us since we moved here six years ago. Just awful to know it's gone.

How devastating it must be for that little community. I sure hope insurance was up to date.

Someone needs to break it to the mayor, what is he nine?

Jeez had it wrong. The former mayor was 5 year old Bobby Tufts. After two terms he lost out to 16 year old Eric Mueller. Oh what a year...

call me a cynic but, I don't think it's a coincidence that this fire occured so soon after Tufts lost his bid for re-election.

The "silver lining" here is that no one lost their lives and there were no injuries. Structures can be replaced, though it is a shame to lose those historic century old buildings. People cannot be replaced. I still certainly sympathize with the couple that owned the two restaurants.
