I don't know about living there, but I go into Rochester to shop at the Cub Foods now and then, and as an older lady have never felt scared or weird about the parking lot and surrounding area. It's a mixed race area and the homes in that neighborhood, while modest, don't look run down.

I guess checking the Rochester crime statistics might help you?

It looks like there are more problems to the north of the neighborhood you are considering.

It is definitely a mix of races there. I think some places near there are okay but others not so much. I think they are cleaning up one of the complexes that had a lot of crime issues so that will probably help. I guess check out the crime map link from 601 and see what you think. We shop in that area a lot and I haven't worried much about it.
