ewwwww...lol on the other hand, if I move to MN, I am so making this for every potluck and event I go to. I won't be eating it though, just pretending to be so Minnesotan that even the natives will think I am more Minnesotan then them.

Grape salad is not very good.
Down there my relatives still eat a lot of gross 1950s-midwest america food. Scalloped potatoes, salty ham, jell-o, various formulations of hot dish, etc. Then some Norwegian stuff on the holidays like kransekake and lefse.

Count me among those natives who have never heard of, much less tasted, this grape salad. Walleye, booyah, lutefisk, wild rice, heck, even bratwurst and sauerkraut would have made more sense. The NPR writer is correct: giving Wisconsin wild rice instead of a cheese wheel or something is pretty much unforgivable.
