being mauled and maimed for life to me is not a badge of honor. you tried to hunt and kill a bear, but the bear turned it around. the message leave bears alone. dont kill unless you have to, killing its not a sport.

You Californians are a bit hyper-civilized it seems.

What I wonder is why the heck did the guy not have his gun when he was tracking him? Did he assume that his first shot had killed the bear? Did the bear do a better job than he of stalking/ tracking?

That one is called the Karma Train. I have no problem with Hunting or Hunters, nor do I with the hunted turning it around.

The story is short on detail, but it really does sound as though he went looking for a wounded bear without a firearm just a knife. If that's true, he's a complete and utter imbecile, and exceedingly fortunate to be alive.
