Anyone remember the Crib which sits in the water in Canal Park? There was a concrete pillar( large), sitting in front of it, well it has sunk, disappeared, anyone remember that out there?

PS Has anyone ever gone scuba diving in any Minnesota Lake?

At the end of the clip the huge round pillar shown... missing now?

Is that the thing that kids used to jump off when the weather was hot enough (to make jumping in ice-cold Lake Superior feasible, that is)? Maybe the waves finally undermined the sediment underneath it and it sank lower or dropped of whatever bunch of rocks it was perched on?

I haven't scuba-dived (not trained, though I've always meant to take the course), but I have snorkled quite a bit along the North Shore - again, when it was hot enough to make swimming along the surface no different than being in any other cold lake.

Problem is seeing something 10 or so feet down that you want to investigate, diving for it, then hitting that heart-stopping thermal layer!

I once found a huge (like 60x40) log "raft" submerged only a few feet below the surface, made up of some pretty big logs (a primitive barge, maybe?). Found a few fishing lures. Oh, and MANY golf balls - apparently, one of my neighbors has (or had) a habit of using Lake Superior as a driving range.
