Default Want Out of the Metro? Let's trade Houses

I live in the Alexandria area. Specifically Long Prairie, 120 miles Northwest of Saint Paul. I am employed in Saint Paul and would like to move my family down to the Saint Paul area.

Rather than having to find someone buy my home in Long Prairie and purchasing one in Saint Paul. I'm wondering if there is any interest in pursuing a trade, eliminating Realtors. And not feeling llike you're getting "ripped off" -as I'm in the same situation you're in.

I have a 4 Bedroom home at 2358 sq ft built in 1996. Ideally, we would like a newer house, with more square footage as we are a growing family. However, we would consider older, smaller houses as well.

We are most interesting in the Woodbury/Cottage Grove are, but would consider anything within a 30 mile drive of Bandana Square in Saint Paul.

Someone mentioned to me that it might be a good idea to list my home on Craig's List. Does anyone have any other ideas, besides listing in the Star Tribune and the Pioneer Press. I'd love to get your ideas.

Looking forward to hearing your perspective!!!

There are several for sale by owner websites where you might consider listing your home.
