Hi all! I am moving soon, 3 miles away and swore to myself I would never again move myself. I'm going to hire a service this time - I pack, they load/drive/unload.

I have put out requests for estimates with a few that I found online but does anyone have a trusted mover?

Does anyone know what I could expect to pay for this move?

I live in a large house now but with very little furniture. Really the house is TOO big for us. We're scaling down about 800 sq ft. There's no formal bedroom furniture (1 nightstand, 1 IKEA dresser kind of thing). No living or dining room furniture will be moving (buying new - woo hoo!).

And I will try to scale back crap --err I mean all the boxes of stuff in the basement and garage.

I've used Lighthouse Movers twice now and I would highly recommend them. Cost is $85 truck rental and $110/hr for two movers or $145/hr for three movers, for your move I would think it would be 3-4 hours tops.

We hired Matt's Moving in June 2014 to load our rental truck; they were excellent.
