I'm looking to move to the Duluth area after graduating from my university in May. What are some clean, safe places I could look for to live, preferably under $900/month? I like the Hermantown area, but don't know of many apartments/townhomes. Thanks!!!

There really isnt any neighborhoods in Duluth where your safety would be seriously compromised. West Duluth is pretty unpleasant from an asthetic standpoint.

Downtown there are renovated apartments in the Bridgeman-Russell building. They are loft style, effeciency and secure. There are blueprints of the aprtments and descriptions online. Bridgeman Russell Apartments
The only townhome style aprtments in the Hermantown area are the Deerfield Townhomes. They are exhorbanant and badly constructed. They cost nearly 900-100 a month. Horrible. Poor foundations that shifted and the whole buildings were not square with the siding popping off the sides and the walls with large cracks in them. The Boulder Ridge Townhomes along Rice Lake road near Marshall school are brand new and really nice. |
