Default General Practioners in Edina/Bloomington area.

I have recently moved to Minnesota and have just got health care insurance. I am wondering if anyone has any recommendations for doctors in the Edina/Bloomington/Eden prairie area. Preferebly looking for a female. I have heard that some doctors also practice alternative medicine, so if I could find someone like that I would also be very interested.
Any recommendations??

Check with your health insurance company. They will know which doctors are covered and which ones aren't; they may also have lists of "premium" doctors who are rated better than others (this is a newer feature that many insurance companies are doing). These docs are rated better because they are following "best practices" or "evidence-based practices" and don't order unnecessary tests and their patients do better than average patients.

Minneapolis/St. Paul magazine also puts out a list of the top rated Dr.'s in the metro. We found our dr's using that list. I am guessing it is online.

That is in the January issue of the Mpls/St. Paul magazine. They should have that issue in the library if you can't find it on the newstand anymore.
