This has been a LONG time coming:

it long ago stopped being a concern of mine as I've learned to purchase my alcohol on other days of the week, would hope they include the provision to allow the grocery stores to be invited to the party

Bout time! I jump over the border to Prescott, WI on occasion and I typically see almost all MN plates doing the same. Much better to keep the tax $$ in our state.

I'm able to plan my alcohol consumption in advance, so it won't affect me in the slightest.

That said, the law should never have existed in the first place. It's just another blue law enacted by people who thought that their ideas of an ancient book's admonitions should be foisted upon everyone else.

Long overdue. There will now be a drop in Sunday liquor sales at Cheesehead liquor stores from people in MN border cities. The only advantage that Superior had over Duluth and that Hudson had over Stillwater just vanished.

Had recently talked to two people I know in MN and both told me they thought the Sunday alcohol sale ban would probably be overturned. They were right.

Congrats to the MN State Senate.

Now that we have that out of the way let the recreational marijuana legalization discussions begin!

I can now make fun of states like Pennsylvania and Utah without being a hypocrite now!

(Sorry Pennsylvania, but your liquor laws are whack, and this video is SO bad!)

OMG that video is so LOL bad. It was like a spoof...but it wasn't!

As for sunday sales...I don't care for myself personally, but I think its the right decision as its a religious decision and I don't think that belongs in government (individual businesses are free to set their own hours as they see fit)

Personally, I think it's pretty sad that a person can't go a day without booze. But, I guess it's better than forcing our drunks to spend their money in another state.

Most people have been in a pinch on a Sunday at some point in their life. You've never had an impromptu BBQ, invite some friends over to watch the Vikings game and realize you're out of booze? At that point you gotta ask yourself "ah geez do I make the drive all the way to Hudson or do I settle for 3.2 from the corner store?" I sometimes wake up in a cold sweat over this scenario...not a good place to be!

Thank God I won't have to go through that again!
