Yes, there's excellent mountain biking at Lutsen. I can't remember exactly how many miles of trails they have, but it's a lot and it's all lift accessed so you won't die climbing the hills. I would recommend having health insurance though, as every year people who overestimate their abilities get WRECKED! You don't have to go all out though and there are plenty of trails for novices and experts. We had a guy up there that used to bomb down the hills on his 3,000 dollar bike doing 60 MPH, so there is a broad spectrum of riding available. Check out the website at

I would also recommend riding the Gitchi-Gami trail between Beaver Bay and Gooseberry Falls State Park. 13 miles of paved, super scenic trail. It's a great ride.

Here are some more I took last fall on the Superior Hiking Trail just three miles from my house. I live in Silver Bay. I love Minnesota and especially the North Shore. I don't think there's anywhere like it in America.
