There were a lot of hilarious lines in that film. Though I have issues with parts of it, this is a great movie! And it's especially great that as a Minnesotan I can laugh at mentions of different areas here. That's always fun!

I actually just read something saying that most of the script was typed up at the Starbucks in the Crystal Target, so the Crystal assumption makes sense based on surroundings I guess.

I had been under the impression that it "took place" in Minnetonka, not sure why- maybe the mall, but it was definitely a west suburb I believe.

Sorry to pop your bubbles, but the movie was filmed in British Columbia. The houses look very much like Pacific Northwest houses to me. Also, there were tons of Rhodedendrons in the yards. I wonder if they shipped in man made snow for the snowy scenes?

Yes, it is "supposed" to be MN, but it is really BC.

No bubble bursting...I think we're all in agreement we know it was filmed in Canada. We are trying to figure out the location it was supposed to take place in (storywise). Somewhere here in MN...
