Really, who would Dayton probably appoint?

Who's on the list of DFL team players? I have no memory of who Franken ran against last time in the primaries, and I don't know any of the Terrible Cities DFLers. Are any of them drooling for the spot? Oh - Ellison. No thank you.

What's Rep. Betty McCollum like?

Or Collin Peterson? Might be nice to have someone from Western MN.

Bet Dayton would like to appoint himself. Can he do that?

Too bad we can't clone Klobuchar and have Dayton appoint her clone to join her in the senate - she's been a great senator.

Just as long as the Senate provides a prayer room, with an arrow on the ceiling pointing towards Mecca. And takes the requisite 5 breaks a day for the Call to Prayer. And don't forget to provide a wash space so that the Senator can do the ritual cleansing before using the prayer room. And if there are mixed gender Muslim Senators, the Senate will need two prayer rooms, or at least one room with a divider between the male and female prayer spaces.

And if he or she farts during the prayer, that prayer is nullified and the Senate might have to wait longer while the gas clears and the prayer is redone. (It's in the Hadith, I believe.) https://islamqa.info/en/212088

And maybe the female Senators will be required to wear head coverings so as not to incite the Minnesota Muslim Senator to lust if it is a man. https://islamqa.info/en/search?q=head+coverings

If it has to be a Dem, I would also go for the Klobuchar clone.

It won’t be a current member of Congress because they won’t want to hold a special election to fill that seat. If they did it would have to be a safe seat like McCollum’s or Ellison’s.

In the current environment, it seems likely that he will appoint a woman.

And they will need someone who can raise a lot of money because there will be an election the next November (2018 when Klobuchar is also running) and then again in 2020 to get the staggered terms back in synchronized. https://blogs.mprnews.org/newscut/20...anken-resigns/ https://blogs.mprnews.org/newscut/20...anken-resigns/

So Franken says not so fast on the speculation he is going to resign. He says he is still talking it over with his family.

It is a great thing these women had the strength to come forward with what he did not only for other girls and women to see that one can come forward, but also to get Franken out of politics.

There was talk of him being in the running for the next Presidential election.
One can see his selfishness and denial with this by not resigning by now.
That carries into his personality in many ways. Don't need a President like that.

I am guessing when he does make a statement there will be undertones that it was not his fault.

Yeah like JFK or or any of the other presidents. Some people just don't have their backgrounds dug up, twisted around, and exploited. Franken (not Franked) should step down if he thinks he did something wrong, if he did something worse than all the other people who are politicians... yeah I guess so- or if he gets tired of the Republicans searching and searching for things to dig up about him.

You don't think it's merely a coincidence that he was being talked about to run for president and now the same things he's done in his life are being magnified and spotlighted as if he were any different than the majority of males in politics?

Yes, JFK was a womanizer and cheated on his wife. I find that part of him disgusting and not a good role model as President in that regard.

It appears the tide is changing as far as the politicians and their history in regards to womanizing, assaulting, taking advantage, and compromising women.
Politicians at one time were really considered public servants. Unfortunelty, it has become a career for many.

No, I do not think it is a coincidence. Men are falling in this area and it is about time. And if any women have abused, they need to fall too.
And thanks for the spell check.
