You might try one of the national realtors (Remax, Century 21, Coldwell Banker, etc.) and see what they have listed in that area. When I think of Walnut Grove, I always think of laura Ingalls Wilder. That area of Minnesota is lovely--along with the rest of the state.

Walnut Grove is a pretty small town. Try looking for realtors in Sleepy Eye instead. They should cover that town.

I looked for houses in Walnut Grove, MN. tonight just for fun, and I only saw two listings on realtor.com
So it must still be a very small town, looks like the population is only about 600 according to the 2000 census. It's interesting looking up things like this though, Little House On The Prairie itself was filmed in California, but it makes me wonder how much does the real Walnut Grove resemble what we saw on the show?

It looks nothing like what you saw on the show and yes, it is a small town. Chances are there are more then 2 houses for sale but the realtors in the area just don't list on realtor.com.
The area is very flat, mostly farm land but it is still a nice area.

I took a peak on Google Earth and it looks a lot like my town, size ways. We are just over 600 in population. Walnut Grove seems to lack ANY recreation of any sort. In Sebeka we have a wonderful Ball Field, School grounds with a running track and a Community Swimming Pool. Nothing seems to be there in Walnut Grove.
Near by towns are also smallish so it seems to be a trek to find a Wal Mart, the Staple in Minnesota's small town living.
There is no rail service no Major Highway there, only that lazy river that once supported area logging. My town, Sebeka plays Sleepy Eye in Sports, maybe Walnut Grove is part of it? If not, they must have an awful small school system. The Farms can throw off that guess though. A good part of our school's enrollment are kids from surrounding Farms.

A lot of homes for sale don't always get posted on the internet so your right.
Anyone ever visit the Laura Ingalls Wilder museum?

Walnut Grove is part of the Westbrook/Walnut Grove district. Tracy has a pool and golf course so most of that is available there. Redwood Falls and Marshall have the basics for shopping otherwise people go to Mankato for major shopping. Walnut Grove is off Highway 14 and not far off 19 so it is easily accessible.
