I have never heard this stereotype before and to be honest about it, I don't see any truth in it at all. I've worked with alot of people since beginning my post college job, some natives, some transplants from other states. I have yet to see a correlation of the native Minnesotan's being harder workers than outsiders. I've seen plenty of hardworking Minnesotans and plenty of lazy ones. Same thing goes for the others. This is one of those things that completely depends on the individual.

Sounds like it's genetic. Germany and Scandinavia are known for the same qualities, so it makes sense.
